Greetings Good Gentles!
Join us on the 7th of May to celebrate the College of St. Bunstable's annual Spring Fling.
The themes of the day match the three pillars of our College: Knowledge, Community, and Passion.
Our current A&S Champion, Dieterich von Zweibruecken, will be running a traditional free-form format of the A&S competition this year. The contest entries will be judged on presentation and how well the contestant embody the three ideals of the college, knowledge, passion and community. Along with the competition for Champion, there will be a rapier tournament in order to choose the new Protector of the College. Beyond the two competitions, there will be dancing, and a small court. During the day there will be a small dayboard for your enjoyment provided by the Culinary Guild. Site opens at 12pm and closes at 5pm.
There is no site fee though a donation to the College is appreciated. Due to Opening Day for boating the site is being moved to David Rogers Park (on Queen Anne Hill - same location as Peasants Revel).
Autocrats:
Judith Greanwod (mka Michelle Lauzon)
Alanna of Ramskeep (mka Alison Gifford)
Eleanor Ashling - Light of Saint Bunstable
Ursula Georges - A&S champion
Sean O'Conner - Rapier champion
TRADITIONAL DIRECTIONS (from Peasant's Revel): David Rodgers Park is at the corner of 1st Ave. W. and W. Raye St. Parking is limited to the street, so carpooling or public transit is strongly advised.
By bus: The #3 and #13 come direct from downtown Seattle (#3 to the top at 1st W & Raye and #13 to the west side at 3rd W & Raye); the #31 from the U-District stops at Nickerson and 3rd W, about 7-8 blocks North of the park.
By car, take I-5 and exit at Mercer St. Take the far right hand lane and turn right onto Fairview Ave. N. Get in the right-hand left turning lane and follow the S-curve around to the left, putting you on Valley St. Be in the far right lane that veers right onto Westlake Ave. Lake Union is on your right. Follow Westlake Ave. until it turns into Nickerson (after passing the Fremont Bridge). Go about a half mile to 3rd Ave. W. (at the SPU campus) and turn left. Go about six blocks, and turn left at W Smith St., just past W. Raye St. (which is one way the wrong way). Turn left at 2nd Ave W, which dead ends on W Raye St. The park is directly ahead, so park anywhere.
